In 1814, Britain dispatched 30,000 troops to Nepal. The arrogant British officers and soldiers thought they could crush the army was mainly composed of mountain people's 12,000 Nepalese Gurkha soldiers with their fine equipment. And the fact is just the opposite, It took the British army two years of blood bathing to finally win.

This war is a lesson for the British, and they are impressed by the fighting capacity of the Gorkha soldiers. After peace, Britain signed a treaty with Nepal and enjoyed the privilege of recruiting Gurka soldiers, a tradition that continues to this day.

Gurkha trousers and Gurkha shorts were used by British soldiers employed in the 1940s and 1950s. Because of its special status, the appellation of this kind of trousers has been retained.
